Watch Fett's 1st ever appearance in the animated segment from the Holiday Special

The Boba Fett figure pictured above was the first time that Lucas and the people at Hasbro acknowledged the existence of Fett and his animated debut in the poorly conceived Holiday Special.

Up until that point, Fett was considered to have been seen by many collectors (including all those fans outside of the US) firstly as a figure in 1979 prior to the release of The Empire Strikes Back a year later. This too was a complicated event, with the original sculpt being adapted at the last minute due to safety concerns regarding its rocket firing mecahnism.

Since 2007 the flood gates have opened on items showing Fett in one of his animated guises.

For those collectors wanting a truely stunning piece of Star Wars history, pick up the Acme Fett colour Key Cel (Shown Below). This was a Star Wars Shop exclusive, but can still be picked up from collectors and online auctions.

 

 

 

Fett's appearance in both the Holiday Special and the Droids series have only added to the character's popularity and this favourite with collectors show no sign of falling out of favour.
